Recovering from Parkinsonism ; A Parkinsonism/PEMF. Journey By Fausto Chavez

I have never been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease but for many years I deeply studied this condition and what its sufferers go through. I became interested in Parkinson’s because overnight I developed symptoms similar to Parkinson’s.

I developed Parkinsonism through the use of recreational stimulant drugs in my early ‘20s–having used too much drugs, too soon. Stimulant drugs typically enhance dopamine activity, but their overuse can cause problems, such as in my case, where I blew out some dopamine production, which led to resting tremors, dyskinesia, fatigue, sleep and mood disturbances.

When symptoms happen acutely and the cause is known, it’s called Parkinsonism (to differentiate from Parkinson’s which is the gradual development of the disease, usually cause unknown). In both cases it is a movement disorder (and often mood disorder) due to dopamine disturbance in both Parkinsons and Parkinsonism.

The dyskinesia and mood disorders that I developed did not recede in the days-and-weeks that followed. When I learned that the medical industry had no cure for Parkinson’s/ism I became discouraged and fell into a deep depression. However, I resolved to study on my own, searching for a cure that did not require risky or expensive surgeries, or endless pills, to try to heal my brain.

After two years of suffering and searching daily for a cure, I learned about Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy and its many health benefits, including for Parkinson’s disease. With PEMF, a pulsing magnetic field is applied to injured body parts, and affects the cells’ magnetic fields to heal damaged tissues. These machines can be bought, or you can rent time with one from a health service provider.

I found a healer in my area who offered PEMF services, which was not too expensive (a few hundred bucks for several sessions). A pulsed magnetic field was applied to my head for about fifteen minutes (using coils attached to a PEMF unit), then I went home and rested. By the next day my symptoms had improved dramatically. My stamina, mood and resting tremors all benefited greatly–it was like a light switch had been turned on in my head. I had several follow up sessions with the PEMF service provider in the weeks and years that followed, and felt better every time. The benefits were long lasting, such that today in my 40s I am largely symptom free and lead a normal life.

Learning about PEMF therapy was one of the most important things I ever discovered. I have used it to treat other injuries apart from Parkinsonism that I’ve sustained through the years with great success. PEMF has saved the quality of my life, I don’t know where I’d be without it.

The use of PEMF devices for Parkinson’s disease is not widespread nor well known. There are many different kinds of PEMF devices, big and small, of different strengths and costs, but the one in my case that treated my brain injury was a larger device, quite powerful; though I’ve acquired a small PEMF device to treat minor injuries on my own.

Even though PEMF did the trick for me, over the years I continued studying Parkinson’s disease. Two other non-invasive, affordable yet promising treatment methods I’ve come across are the use of nicotine in pill and patch form, as well as selenium supplementation.

I share my story with Parkinson’s sufferers so that they may possibly benefit from what I went through. My message to Parkinson’s sufferers is that there is hope with this condition.
